3 Reasons to be a Morning Person
OK, I live for the morning – the earlier the better, no joke.
I mean, being able to ease into the day and accomplish things in the early a.m.? Yes, please. Knocking off some to-dos and taking time for yourself before you ever even hit the office literally changes the pace and productivity of the entire day. To start the day on the right side of the bed (pun intended) and make the day seamless, centered, and most productive….
1. Reflect vs. Rush
Taking the time to reset, meditate, and recognize all that you have to be thankful for, as well as look forward to in the day ahead, is my absolute favorite thing to do every morning.
Before scrolling through Instagram, reading the news, or sending off a text, taking a hot minute to share a favorite mantra with yourself and get into an amazing head space will change your day. Waiting to dive into the day until you’ve had a dose of self love leaves you feeling like your best self and also impacts your interactions with others throughout the day.
Personally, I also like to reflect each morning by writing down three things I am grateful for. Even if its something small like my morning coffee and slippers, taking the time to write down what you’re thankful for will have some majorly positive vibes radiating through the rest of your day, promise.
2. Workout ✔️
Getting a workout in before tackling the day’s to-dos? Is there anything better? Hitting the gym in the morning means that I actually do just that, hit the gym. Once five, six, seven o’clock rolls around, nothing feels better than knowing that your workout is done and you can just enjoy dinner, time with the fam bam, whatever relaxes you at the end of the day. I also find that getting my workout done in the morning gives me an energy boost and sense of accomplishment that I can carry through the day - aka even if everything else falls through, your workout is in the books. 📚
3. Put Away The Dishes
Before leaving the house or diving into the day, ✔️ off chores and tasks that you definitely don’t want to be doing that night. Unloading the dishwasher, throwing in a load of laundry, and cleaning the cat litter are some of my go-tos.
It might seem daunting to add more to the morning, but getting all of the aforementioned done only takes me an extra 10 minutes and means not having to do them at night when you just want to crash. To-ta-llyyyy worth it.
