Maintaining a Dialogue With You

Maintaining a Dialogue With You

Keeping with the month of ❤️, and being inspired to expand on some of the ways I shared to love y-o-u, talking all things self-dialogue!

Consistent, internal dialogue with you has been key to developing a stronger spiritual connection and a happier, more inspired outlook, in my experience.

Creating a positive self-dialogue initially became important when I started meditating. In fact, most of my meditations still involve bringing something that I want to improve upon, seek answers to, or otherwise to the table in order to have an honest conversation in the stillness.

Self-dialogue doesn’t necessarily mean talking out loud to yourself (although … that does happen … 😛), but dedicating time to check in with yourself through meditation, a quiet reflection over your morning coffee, or even a moment in the car between work or errands.

What’s first and foremost important with self-dialogue is the tone in which we communicate with ourselves. Self-dialogue doesn’t work (at least in a positive way!) unless the manner in which we speak to ourselves is kind. According to researchers, our stress levels can even decrease when we practice healthy self-dialogue. What’s not to love?!

Additionally, maintaining a dialogue with you is essential to uncovering inspiration only we ourselves can provide. Allowing our minds to rest and reset frees us up to new ideas and challenges that bring excitement. When we release worry and let our thoughts wander, doors open that we wouldn’t have otherwise even known were there. This inspiration not only encourages passion projects, dreams, and more, but also allows us to connect with ourselves and get in touch with our gut.

I’ve also found that keeping an open dialogue with you enhances perspective twofold.

In the heat of the moment, our problems, stresses, and conflicts can feel overwhelming and bigger than they actually are. Taking a step back and having a strong dialogue with ourselves each day allows us to put these issues into greater perspective.

The second fold of this piece is not surprisingly gratitude. When we communicate with ourselves, acknowledging all of the good in our lives at any given time comes naturally. Self-dialogue and self-reflection go hand in hand.

Communication with you encourages inspiration, enhanced perspective, gratitude, and so much more. You can start small by catching how you speak to yourself in the moment and pivoting, or go all in and set aside time each day to check in, meditate, and/or reflect. Any step is a step in the right direction.❤️

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend full of recharging, resetting, and a great glass (ok, two) of vino.💋
